The Supply chain team were delighted to meet delegates at the Essex Chambers – ‘Building the Sizewell C Supply Chain’ event.

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce are working in partnership with regional Chambers to grow awareness of the many opportunities the building of the proposed nuclear new build Sizewell C, could have for local and regional businesses.

The event which was held on the 25th January 2022 attracted over 70 delegates from the region.  Delegates who attended the event were given the opportunity to hear about the Sizewell C project and the supply chain opportunities.

Denise Rossiter -CEO of the Essex Chamber of Commerce opened the event followed by a project overview from Steve Carroll- Senior Supply Chain Lead. This was followed by guidance and information on the Supply Chain  and how to get involved by Ashley Shorey-Mills – Head of Sizewell C Supply chain engagement.

The project overview and update was followed by a long and lively Q&A session, with some great questions from the floor. The key focus for these questions covered, skills, diversity, planning, mental health and the timelines for the project.

Ashley Shore-Mills commented “We were pleased to see the amount of enthusiasm from the delegates at the event. Our team have been very busy assisting a number of suppliers with their queries since the event and have seen a noticeable increase in registrations from Essex based businesses as a result.”

The Sizewell C Supply chain team will be running lots more events between now and late spring 2022.  We will keep you posted via our events pages, emails and social media.  We look forward to seeing you all very soon.

We would like to thank the Essex Chambers of Commerce for their support with this event.
