Case Study – Rix Management Systems -ISO Certification & Support

The team at the Sizewell C Supply Chain always enjoy hearing positive stories, where businesses are actively using the portal, to enable them to create their own local supply chain.  We want to see the Sizewell C project as a huge success for local and regional companies, but this shouldn’t only be limited to the activities on the coast.

Recently, we heard from Liz at Rix Management systems, who was really pleased to be part of the Supply chain, and is seeing real life benefits to her business already from referrals.  We asked Liz to tell us more…….

Having only been operating as a freelance ISO Consultant since April 2019, covid had a pretty devastating effect on my business and chamber membership was not high on my agenda, as my business potentially could not justify the expense.  However, I attended the Bounce Back 4 Business event held in April, organised by Stowmarket and District Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce. Stuart Franklin was also at the event and asked me if I would like to join the Sizewell C Supply Chain as a provider of ISO support. This was a great opportunity for me as I was looking to build my business up after a pretty horrendous few months. The Sizewell C supply chain offers me another avenue to reach a wide variety of business that would need to attain ISO certification in order to be considered as suppliers to the Tier 1 contractors or give them an advantage over similar businesses within the chain.

The Suffolk Chamber Team were extremely supportive throughout the process and, whilst joining the supply chain was simple, any queries that I did have were promptly responded to. Since re-joining the chamber, and signing up to the Sizewell C Supply Chain, I had enquiries from potential clients who had found me via the chamber website and the Supply Chain listing.  One of which is from a company that is working in the offshore windfarm sector currently, is looking to be included within the Sizewell C Supply chain and wishes to attain ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification in order to do so. I have sent them a proposal and expect them to be signed up imminently with a start date Nov/Dec.

I am sure that there will be further enquiries in the future as analysis of the traffic to my website shows that there is a high percentage of the visitors coming either directly from the supply chain portal or from the Chamber website.

The boost to my business (and my confidence) is a direct result of attending the Stowmarket and District Chamber of Commerce Bounce Back 4 Business event, reconnecting with the Suffolk Chamber and being encouraged by Stuart to join the Sizewell C supply chain.
