Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s visit to Sizewell B and Sizewell C site

Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the Sizewell B and Sizewell C sites to reaffirm the UK Government’s commitment to supporting nuclear power in the UK.

As part of his speech, the Prime Minister said the Government was to put up to £700mn into Sizewell C, adding that this was ‘just part of the £1.7bn of Government funding available for developing a large-scale nuclear project to final investment stage in this Parliament’.

He concluded by saying that the UK should ‘go nuclear, go large and go with Sizewell C’.

We welcome this statement of support and will continue over the coming months to work towards delivering the project and realising the education, economic and social benefits it will bring for the region.
