Supply Chain statement on the Autumn Statement

The news today from the chancellor to push forward with Sizewell C is one we warmly welcome.  It will boost optimism to those businesses looking to win contracts on this nationally significant project

Mr hunt was clear in his reasons for backing Sizewell C “this will create 10,000 highly skilled jobs and provide reliable low carbon power to the equivalent of 6m homes. Our £700m investment is the first state backing for a nuclear project in over 30 years and represents the biggest step in our journey to energy independence.”

We know, from our constant engagement with the near 2500 businesses who are signed up to our supply chain portal, that this region is ready and waiting to deliver on the nation’s energy security solution.  Sizewell C needs the support of local and regional sme’s from across all sectors, to help drive a positive legacy that will be felt for many years.  With commitments of over £4bn into the regional supply chain, Sizewell C is a step change in opportunity for businesses in the east.

With the final agreement due to be completed in the coming weeks, we now urge all businesses, from across East Anglia, to engage with the Suffolk chamber of commerce’s Sizewell C supply chain team.  We are there to support and guide you through the project and to help you maximise on this exciting catalyst for growth for our region that will secure our nation’s energy security
