Suffolk-Based DPL Group LTD Supports Tier 1 Contractor

Ipswich-based DPL Group LTD is making a significant contribution to the Sizewell C nuclear new build project, supporting one of the UK’s largest infrastructure developments while strengthening the regional supply chain.

DPL Group LTD, a mechanical and electrical installation specialist with over 20 years’ experience in building infrastructure, has been working for Tier 1 contractor TCI Construction on the ACA Welfare Building at Sizewell C. The seven-figure contract, has involved the delivery of comprehensive mechanical and electrical works across a wide range of facilities, including offices, meeting rooms, a café, reception areas, switch rooms, mechanical plant rooms, pump housing, water tanks, and occupational health spaces.

Based in Ipswich, Suffolk, DPL Group LTD has deployed around 40 operatives directly on the Sizewell C project. In addition to its own skilled workforce, the company has actively engaged local subcontractors, particularly for air conditioning, fire, and security installations, helping to maximise local employment and ensure timely delivery.

One of the key challenges of the project was meeting the requirement for immediate occupation of the building. To achieve this, DPL Group LTD successfully delivered the works through a staged handover programme, despite an inflexible completion date. Working within a partially occupied building, the team undertook extended hours, weekend, and evening working, supported by careful coordination and close collaboration with all project stakeholders.

DPL Group LTD also benefited from support from the Suffolk Chamber Supply Chain team, who helped the company make new connections with other contractors on the Sizewell C project.
